After performing a number of arrangements by Gavin Somerset, the band commissioned him to compose for them, an original march that would serve as their signature tune for years to come. The march was composed in a light 6/8 time that would get passes by listening and audience's feet tapping along. Composed with a DC, this is optional and the finale of the march has a licence for a Grandioso and accelerando to give the work that flair for its finale. RONDO from "ABDELAZAR" - Henry Purcell - Wilfried Weiland
Used as the opening theme from Britten's 'Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra', The RONDO is part of the ABELAZAR-Suite which the English composer Henry Purcell wrote for the drama of the same name by Aphra Behn in 1695. This is a 6-piece arrangement for 2 cornets/trumpets, horn/flugel , baritone/trombone, euphonium and bass with timpani and drumset accompaniment.

'At World's End' is the third film in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series. Whilst currently holding the record for the most expensive movie made at the time of release, reviews of the film were mixed and many thought it not as good as its two predecessors. However as with many films, those that have failed to impress on screen can leave behind a soundtrack that remains powerful and popular. Hans Zimmer's music for this third film pulled on the main themes used in the previous two movies with some added material. This arrangement incorporates the new themes from the film, not previously released for band and features the stunning track 'Up Is Down'. £29.50Battle of Britain - Ron Goodwin - Gavin Somerset
From the 1969 motion picture comes the overture from the epic war film, The Battle of Britain. The film tells the story of the summer 1940 where the British RAF, outnumbered, yet with radar on their side, strategically defeated the Luftwaffe. Unusually for a film, this picture had two scores composed, one by Sir William Walton and the other by Ron Goodwin. Following a decision made by those in charge at United Artists, only one segment of Walton's score was used to feature during the epic air battle scene. The remainder of the film's music fell to Ron Goodwin's who gave us the now famous title "Aces High" and the main theme. £29.50Icelandic Hymn - Thorkell Sigurbjornsson - Neil Brownless
Based on a poem written in 1208 by chieftain Kolbeinn Tumason on his death bed, the title translates as 'Hear, Smith of Heavens'. It has become one of the most popular hymns in Iceland and has recently been used in the TV series Handmaid's Tale. The music also went viral following an impromptu performance by a choir at a German train station, accumulating over 4 million views. This arrangement brings something totally different to your concerts with an atmospheric setting for brass band, featuring the flugel horn in the opening and closing bars over sung chords from the rest of the band.
