Henry V (Parts only) - William Walton
It takes a special ability to compose film scores which serve the images perfectly yet translate into first class concert music. William Walton was such a talent as the continuing popularity of his brilliantly evocative film music shows. Included are the poignant Death of Falstaff, the victorious Agincourt Song and Touch her soft lips and part - one of the most tender miniatures in all music. Winwood Music are delighted to bring this music from Laurence Olivier's classic film to the brass band world in a fabulous arrangement, including optional narrator, by Edward Watson - so idiomatic that you'll think this is the original version! Full Movement Listing: Fanfare Prologue: O For a Muse of Fire Interlude at the Boar's Head Inn The Death of Falstaff Touch Her Soft Lips Fanfare Fanfare The Battle of Agincourt Bailero Interlude at the French Court The Agincourt Song

Sinfonietta (Score only) - James Curnow
Sinfonietta for Brass Band is basically a short symphony in three movements. The maestoso opening of the first movement introduces the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic material from which the entire work is structured. The first movement, allegro vivace, is a brilliant capriccio built upon two contrasting melodic lines that are developed throughout the movement. The form is sonata-allegro and it creates an atmosphere of energy and drive. The percussion section opens the second movement and presents the underlying rhythmic ostinato on which this brief but expressive siciliano (pastorale) is developed. Movement three is a rollicking rondo that challenges the technical and rhythmic control of the whol;e ensemble. The brilliant closing fanfare is based on material which has been developed in all three movements.

Cheer Up Charlie (Cornet Solo)
This fresh new cornet solo comes from one of the greatest loved movies of all time. Featuring alongside musical hits such as Pure Imagination and The Candy Man, Cheer Up, Charlie is probably one of the most underrated musical numbers from the film, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. In the film, the song is sung by Charlies mother, whilst young Charlie ponders the life he believes lay ahead for him. With a complex chord structure, the band parts remain interesting throughout whilst the lyrical solo line can shine in this beautiful, melodic work. A great slow melody solo item and one that works on both concert and contest stages.
