BrassFesk UK is back for 2022 after a break following the pandemic and with it, comes the traditional new commission and anthem. Recorded by the European Champions, the Cory Band, this year's anthem is an arrangement of well-known UK traditional songs to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee. The work has been written in the style of Gordon Langford, one of the Brass Band world's leading arrangers and so as you expect, there are some fantastic parts to play for all areas of the band to enjoy. This foot-tapping release continues to follow the previous BrassFest UK anthems that have gone before it, ensuring a fun piece of music to both play and listen to. Sobre Las Olas - Juventino Rosas - Chris Gorman
This is possibly one of the best-known tunes around the world and is speculated to heard in more motion pictures than any other song. However, if you asked someone to "name that tune", then most would probably struggle. This classic Waltz has mistakenly in the past thought to be Viennese and has frequently thought to be the work of Johann Strauss II. The music is the most famous work of the composer and has long been associated in the US with fair ground rides and trapeze artists. This arrangement of the original work by Chris Gorman makes a perfect classical "Overture" work for your concert program.

This special arrangement by Andrew Cook was a commission by Rob Westacott to perform with the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band. The musical Les Miserables is the 3rd longest running show in Broadway history. The superb arrangement captures all the feelings of the original work and was given its debut performance at Parr Hall in Warrington on Saturday 27th March 2010. The work, arranged for one of the greatest cornet players, with one of the world's greatest brass bands, is a must in any cornet soloist's repertoire.

This fantastic, high-energy, showcase of a piece was originally composed by Cole Porter for the musical 'Du Barry Was A Lady'. However, it was not until it was performed by Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra in the film 'High Society' that the piece shot to fame in 1956 and then again in 2001 when Robbie Williams performed the duet with Jon Lovitz on his album 'Swing When Your Winning'. Your band can now faithfully recreate Crosby & Sinatra's clever, comic on screen interaction in this arrangement by Gavin Somerset that is scored as a duet for any two Bb instruments to take the spotlight, or an Eb & Bb instrument. This composition takes the well-known hymn tune Diadem and turns it into an epic concert work that all bandsmen will enjoy getting their teeth stuck into. Big organ like chords fill the opening stanza's before the work sets off full of life with fragments of the familiar tune hinted at throughout. Fakenham Fair - Traditional - A. Cook
The origins of the song Fakenham Fair are somewhat obscure. It was collected by Peter Bellamy, who performed it unaccompanied on his first solo LP, "Mainly Norfolk" in 1968, giving credit to a Peter Bullen of Norwich from whom he had learned it, Bullen in turn giving credit to his grandfather. But beyond that, other than it definitely being a Norfolk folk song, the rest is a mystery.Over the years, Fakenham Fair has become a firm favourite among folk audiences, probably the most famous version being the 2008 recording by folk supergroup 'Bellowhead' which this setting for brass band pays tribute to. A bright, quirky, and bouncy 5:4/10:8 waltz, the band parts dance back and forth from simple time to compound time and back again, giving a constant flow that somehow always feels natural despite the irregular rhythm... but which will also keep your audience guessing where the beat will land next! With solos and features for principal chairs around the band, nobody is left out of the fun. Engaging to listen to and even more so to play, Fakenham Fair is a perfect light concert item for the band that likes to show off their rhythmic and lyrical sides at the same time.

Tetris is without doubt, one of the bestselling games worldwide since its global release in the mid-1980s. Challenging the player to organise a series of falling blocks, the theme tune based on the Russia traditional song, Korobeiniki, in its electronic format, became synonymous with the hand held game. This work has now been scored in an exciting arrangement for brass band which builds and builds to an exciting finale. The music features all sections of the band and bridges the generations, working well as a fantastic finale showstopper.
