£37.50Stories From The Steel City - Jonathan Bates
In 2013, Deepcar Brass Band, based in the north of Sheffield at the foot of the Pennines, celebrated their 25th Anniversary year. To that end, they commissioned the upcoming composer Jonathan Bates to pen a new work for the band that reflected not only the band's triumphant milestone, but also the history of the steel city. This exciting work features a variety of styles and has an interlude that hears the sounds of metal being clanged to conjure up images of the cities steelwork heritage. Jonathan Bates has since gone on to compose for many of the country's top bands and all his works see success with melodic lines and skilful use of the brass band colours.

Sailor's Hymn - Amber Hooton
Sailor's Hymn depicts a scene of sailors preparing to depart from the port of Liverpool, looking out over the docks as the Blue Peter flag flies,beckoning the sailors aboard to begin their long journey. It is a piece about saying goodbye to what was once familiar, moving on and pushing towards new horizons.This piece was written for a cultural exchange between brass and wind bands from St Helens (Valley Brass Band) and Normandy (Harmonie Courselles Sur Mer), culminating in a massed bands concert in Normandy during April 2024. The piece was one of several arrangements and original compositions written especially for the exchange, supported by grants from the Victoria Wood Foundation and Johnson Foundation. The concert celebrated the local cultures of Merseyside and Normandy, as well as the wider national cultures of the United Kingdom and France.

Whilst a drum part is clearly written out, the soloist is advised to 'ad lib' throughout, allowing the player to make their part as easy or as complex as they wish. This is great showcase item that is just something different from the norm and suits all concert programmes.

£37.50Bedknobs & Broomsticks - Sherman & Sherman - Gavin Somerset
After the success of Mary Popping in 1964, Disney once again had a hit on their hands seven years later with the release of 'Bedknobs & Broomsticks'. Set in 1940, the film told the story of Eglantine Price, a spinster who was learning the ways of witchcraft to help Britain with the War effort. Richard & Robert Sherman provided another excellent score, with memorable songs that now for the first time, are available for Brass Band. This toe-tapping new work features The Old Home Guard, The Age of Not Believing, Portabello Road and, The Beautiful Briny Sea (with added bubbles!). Audiences of all ages will appreciation this title and is a great addition to any concert programme. Castell y Barri was commissioned by the Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band as part of its Post-Covid-19 rejuvenation. Whilst the local Welsh bands have adopted many of the Marches by TJ Powerll as their own, titling the march Castell y Barri provides a nod to TJ Powell's legacy. This new March is a lively March that would be perfectly suited to both the bandstand and contest stage, featuring both modal and atonal harmonies to create an uplifting, yet tradition sounding work.

This energetic piece, one of the many qualities of Ennio Morricone's music, has recently been brought back into the public eye with its use in the new 'Health Lottery" Adverts and many other TV appearances. The music comes from the iconic picture "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" while the character Tuco searches for the $200,000 hidden in a graveyard. Since then, its been a hit world wide, being used in several media campaigns. its success can be attributed to the strong, powerful melody that last long in the memory. £24.50Life On The Ocean Wave - Henry Russell - Sam Townsend
This British March has been made famous around the world due to its use by H.M. Royal Marines Band. In 1882, the Deputy Adjutant General Royal Marines requested that the Bandmaster of each Royal Marine Division (Portsmouth, Plymouth, Chatham) submit an arrangement for a new regimental March for the corps. The Bandmaster of the Chatham Division, submitted an arrangement of A Life on the Ocean Wave which was authorised for use as the regimental quick March of the Corps of Royal Marines in 1882. Now for the first time, this March has been made available for Brass Band and is a perfect concert item to use in any concert.

John Williams returned to the Star Wars franchise to compose music for Episode VII - The Force Awakens. Spanning a musical journey of over 40 years, his theme for the heroine of the new films, Rey, is just as powerful and emotional as any of the music composed for the saga. While describing "Rey's Theme," John Williams said the music "wasn't heroic in the sense of a hero, but instead the song was meant to convey an adventure that would resolve itself in triumph." Now available for Brass Band, this delicate, yet, powerful theme is a great addition to any concerts, bringing John Williams' latest music from Star Wars into the band room.

£29.50Songs of the North & South - Andi Cook
BrassFesk UK is back for 2022 after a break following the pandemic and with it, comes the traditional new commission and anthem. Recorded by the European Champions, the Cory Band, this year's anthem is an arrangement of well-known UK traditional songs to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee. The work has been written in the style of Gordon Langford, one of the Brass Band world's leading arrangers and so as you expect, there are some fantastic parts to play for all areas of the band to enjoy. This foot-tapping release continues to follow the previous BrassFest UK anthems that have gone before it, ensuring a fun piece of music to both play and listen to.
