Rey's Theme - John Williams - Gavin Somerset

John Williams returned to the Star Wars franchise to compose music for Episode VII - The Force Awakens. Spanning a musical journey of over 40 years, his theme for the heroine of the new films, Rey, is just as powerful and emotional as any of the music composed for the saga. While describing "Rey's Theme," John Williams said the music "wasn't heroic in the sense of a hero, but instead the song was meant to convey an adventure that would resolve itself in triumph." Now available for Brass Band, this delicate, yet, powerful theme is a great addition to any concerts, bringing John Williams' latest music from Star Wars into the band room. Tuba Concerto - Ralph Vaughan Williams

Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto was written in 1953/4 in response to an invitation to compose a work for the Golden Jubilee of the London Symphony Orchestra. Vaughan Williams was by then in his eighty-second year. The lively, outer movements both conclude with extended cadenzas, while the beautifully lyrical Romanza is Vaughan Williams at his best. Phillip Littlemore’s brass band arrangement is a welcome addition to the brass band repertoire.Brass Band Grade 6: ChampionshipDuration: 15 minutes

The Cowboys (Score & Parts) - John Williams

In a career that’s spanned over five decades, composer John Williams has scored fewer than five Westerns which, judging from his exemplary work on this 1972 score The Cowboys, seems something of a shame. Williams offers up a robust, brassy score that the composer hopes ‘people will find genuine pleasure in’. Brass Band Grade 5: 1st Section Duration: 6 minutes

Summon the Heroes - John Williams

John Williams has written ceremonial music for many major events and ceremonies but of all these occasional pieces Summon the Heroes is the most elaborate and musically complex. It was composed for the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 and performed at the opening ceremony. As with all of John Williams's ceremonial compositions this work makes an ideal brass band work that will bring the house down as a concert opener.
