Skidaddle will be the perfect item to provide a lighter moment in your band's programme. The composer Barrie Gott writes: ''Skidaddle' literally means to move in a hurry. This piece means exactly that - to get moving. I was experimenting at the piano at school one morning waiting for my first students and this little ditty came to mind. Four hours later I had the first draft done! It is supposed to be a bit of fun with a few technical demands for cornet and euphonium in particular. The semi-quaver (sixteenth) work needs to be precise. Try and get the audience involved and they'll be yours for the larger works on the programme.' £30.00Icebreaker - Tom Harrold
Icebreaker was originally scored for brass dectet and percussion and was completed in March 2012. The work begins with tumultuous fanfare written for the four trumpets, shrouded by thick chords in the lower brass. This fanfare-like material leads to a biting statement from the trombones. An 'icy' gritty section, once again played by the trombones grows in energy, punctuated by the return of the trumpets' fanfares. The horn, providing a little respite, emerges in a quiet restrained solo line, which is coloured by the rest of the ensemble. Before fully coming to fruition, the horn is quickly cut-short and subsumed by the sudden return of the energetic material from the instruments, which grows to the end of the piece.

Steven Spielberg made this big box office success film 'E.T.', telling the story of a boy, named Eliot, and his friendship with a fascinating little alien 'E.T.'. The film score, written by the internationally famous composer and conductor John Williams, brings their 'adventures on earth' back to life. This science fiction fantasy appeals to the imagination of both young and older people. Ton van Grevenbroek signs this fine orchestration for symphonic band.

3rd Section Test Piece 2016 National Finals of the British Brass Band Championship.The travels of the Aztec people as they headed south through North America looking for a new home, acted as the inspiration for Lake of the Moon. The composition contains small fragments of Oriental music and South American rhythms and occasionally, Russian Cossacks seem to raise their heads. The journey from North to South is not without danger, which is represented by threatening sounds within the music. In the Adagio divoto the composer takes us along to the Texcoco Lake, which the Aztecs called the lake of the moon. Meaning Little Star, this work is so beautiful and simplistic that is raises smiles from all who hear it. Whilst playing with James Shepherd Versatile Brass, Euphonium & trombone player, Nigel Lawless penned this new work as a gift to Rob & Claire Westacott on the birth of their daughter, Jessica. Now cleverly scored for full band, the work combines the two famous melodies of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Brahms lullaby. Playable by most standards of bands, this slow melodic piece fits easily into any concert programme and provides a chance to showcase lyrical soloistic playing and delicate accompanying skills. The work was recorded on the JSVB final CD release, Legacy.

Hey Presto! - Gerry McColl
This new gem of a solo for Euphonium is a rousing piece from start to finish. Starting with heavy syncopation from the band before the soloist can show off with this catchy little tune that you will be whistling for days (if you can whistle that fast!) The middle section then breaks into a beautiful legato tune for the soloist up in the top register, whilst the rest of the band keep on ploughing away underneath. The original tune then returns after a modulation and finishing with the soloist showing off their chromatic runs in the last couple of bars. This is one of the best new entertaining solos around.
