DURATION: 3 minutes. DIFFICULTY: 2nd+. 'The Battle of Sherwood Forest' was composed for BD1 Brass as part of a set of music inspired by the fairytale of Robin Hood and Maid Marian. . In this section of the story, we are transported to the infamous Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire where Robin Hood does battle against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham - a crooked and corrupt officer of the law employed by King Richard to tak the poor and provide for the rich. The battle ends in a stalemate, but Maid Marian (an ally of Robin's) is captured during the conflict by the Sheriff's man and escorted far, far away into solitary confinement.

The piece was written to precede the opening prayer in a band programme.2264: What a Saviour! (Steven Ponsford)This devotional music explores the events of Good Friday, dramatically reminding us of words associated with familiar Easter hymns tunes.

The title relates to Jesus' promise that he will return as Lord and King enternal. Christians, in faith, await his Second Coming and their faith is reflected in the strong tune of the first movement.The featured tune is that of St Magnus with which the words associated are 'The Lord will come and not be slow.'

I was glad was originally a choral introit which is a popular piece in the musical repertoire of the Anglican church. It is traditionally sung in the Church of England as an anthem at the coronation of the British monarch, most recently that of King Charles III in May 2023. This transcription for brass band combines the choral and accompaniment parts meaning it is playable as a standalone arrangement. An optional organ part is included to augment the brass. The cornet section is divided into two choirs to create an antiphonal effect. The 'Vivats' are included in this transcription but an optional cut is provided for that section. Love Eternal was arranged by Gavin Lamplough for trombone virtuoso Isobel Daws to perform in a special concert with the Melbourne Staff Band to honour its Bandmaster Ken Waterworth, on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of leading the band. The arranger uses Jarod Cooper's popular contemporary worship song King of Kings, Majesty as the basis for the work and the piece seeks to provide a vehicle for the rich timbres of the trombone to be enjoyed by the listener.
