It features four well-known carols: Unto us a boy is born (C.C. 97); Three kings' march (C.C. 96); While shepherds watched (C.C. 105); Hark! the herald angels sing (C.C. 38).496: Meditation on 'Beechwood' (Kenneth Downie)This wistful arrangement of the hymn tune brings a spirit of wonder at God's love for us.497: Marching in the light (Ralph Pearce)A march in all but name, this piece is based on the popular South African traditional hymn We are marching in the light of God (S.A.S.B. 903) with references to Come, join our army, to battle we go (S.A.S.B. 949).

(Paul Sharman)Based on the hymn tune 'Luckington', this music is a paean of praise to the Lord of all creation.No. 2159 A Christmas overture (Kevin Larsson)An exciting collection of well-known Christmas carols, originally written as a concert opener.No. 2160 March - A voice from above (Eiliv Herikstad)This march refers to a number of Christmas carols. It starts with four bars of 'Hark! the herald angels sing' followed by fragments of 'Joy to the world!' before James R. Murray's 'Den himmelske lovsang' is presented in full. 'Come children, come quickly' requires legato playing from the lower band.No. 2161 In God we trust (Ralph Pearce)Although the title derives from the United States of America's much-neglected motto, the music is a journey through to total trust in God and our Lord Jesus Christ. The tunes featured are 'In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust' leading to 'Trust in God'. Increasingly calm music leads to the more recent song 'In Christ alone, I placed my trust'. The music ends with a brief reference to 'In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust' now in a mood of calm assurance.

Over the years, Howard Goodall has provided the BBC and others with memorable themes for TV shows that have over time, become iconic in stature. The theme tune to 'Red Dwarf' is certainly no exception. The return of the programme with the new series has been welcomed by millions and now, for the first time, the iconic theme tune has been arranged by Andi Cook for brass band. Perfect for use as an opener or general concert item, the arrangement also contains an optional cut to shorten the work if required for and entertainment contest programme. This new release is a must for all bands looking to give their concert programme a boost of energy.

An upbeat, fun piece which exudes positive-vibes from the outset. This original composition by Darrol Barry for brass band is a great addition to concert repertoire. A nice balance of strong rhythm, touches of featured obligato and a catchy melody.Darrol Barry composed this work in support of a charitable project, known in 2005 as Brass Band Aid. The organisation called for original compositions to be included in a follow-up CD release - Into Africato help raise funds for projects in Adet, Africa, and to build awareness of theMake Poverty History campaign. This is a concert march with a difference!The whole of the first section is in minor mode - unusual and intended to depict the trials and tribulations which inspired the original (and now successfully completed) Africa-based projects of Brass Band Aid. The Trio then goes into the major and begins with a Prayer motif that starts with the notes B-B-A. Following a rather turbulent episode (a reminder that there is still much to do), the Prayer theme returns triumphantly, reflecting optimism for the future.Roy Newsome composed this work in support of a charitable project, known in 2005 as Brass Band Aid. Chernigov is an area, originally part of the USSR, now Ukraine, originally inhabited by Cossack tribes.
