20 Titles for Brass Quintet with Optional AugmentationFeaturing stylish arrangements using a flexible format for a minimum of five brass players, this set of music for small ensemble covers a wide range of composers and styles. The collection includes music by Purcell, Bach, Verdi, Gounod, Sousa, Joplin, Botsford, Elgar, Gershwin, and others.Using a unique approach to the scoring, the basic setup is for five players: two cornets/ trumpets, one horn, one trombone, and one bass tuba. Two optional "augment" players can be added using the "flugelhorn", and/ or the "Euphonium" parts. Further expansion of the ensemble is possible by adding multiple players to each part.Twelve parts are provided in total: 1st Bb Cornet, 2nd Bb Cornet, Eb Tenor Horn, French Horn in F, Bb Trombone or Baritone in treble clef, C Trombone in bass clef, EEb Bass, BBb Bass, C Tuba in bass clef, Bb Flugelhorn or Cornet (augment part 1), Bb Euphonium or Baritone (augment part 2), C Euphonium or Trombone in bass clef (augment part 2).A Full score is available seperately at a cost of �35.00. £57.50Erin's Isle (Euphonium Solo with Brass Band - Score and Parts) - Sparke, Philip
Erin's Isle was commissioned by euphonium player Micah Parsons and premiered by him in June 2024. The idea was to write a slow melody with an Irish flavour and the title is a romantic, 19th century name often used to refer to the island of Ireland itself. The work opens with fluttering, muted cornets, under which a tentative theme appears. This leads to an accompanied cadenza for the soloist, out of which the main theme emerges. This is a long and expansive melody, which winds through several related phrases with a folk-like flavour. A change of key heralds snatches of the theme by the band with interjections from the soloist, leading to a second cadenza. Eventually the band takes up the main theme again, over which the euphonium weaves an elaborate counter melody. The fluttering cornets return to allow the soloist to close the work with a brief and flowery coda.Duration: 7.45

This piece by Thierry Deleruyelle is based on one of the most significant events in the history of coal mining; the catastrophe at Courrieres, Northern France. It took place on 10th March 1906 and is considered the most momentous mining accident in Europe and the second most significant in the world. This work is both emotional and spectacular and tells in 7 contrasting sections the catastrophe that occurred. Fraternity was the test piece in the "Champion" category at the European Brass Band Competition 2016 in Lille, thus commemorating 110 years since the disaster at Courrieres.Duration: 15:40

The recurrent theme is the hymn 'Still, still with Thee' with which the composer has blended his own consideration of words from Psalm 139 (verses 7 - 11). In contrast, there are three opposing movements subtitled 'The Imprisoned Spirit', 'The Heart's Grief' and 'Tribulation' while the final section reaffirms 'The Eternal Presence'.
