Midnight in Cairo is a fun and light piece of music, suitable for anywhere in a concert. It is atmospheric in its nature, conjuring up images of the lively nightlife in the streets against the backdrop of the Nile and the other ancient wonders of this vibrant city. The music starts in a mysterious mood, with soft vocals around the band accompanying the main theme, before the piece takes off. FESTIVE INTRADAThis is a lively opener using the well know Christmas tunes of Silent Night and O Come, All Ye FaithfulAfter a bright opening, Silent Night comes in at letter B from Solo Cornets and Soprano followed by the Horns and back to the Cornets. This leads into a brief reference to O Come, All Ye Faithful from the Trombones before the full tune appears at letter C. Care with the syncopated rhythms to ensure the momentum is maintained. As the piece concludes, Silent Night returns, with a bar of Deck the Halls thrown in for good measure leading to a bright ending.

Composed by Carlton Main Frickley Band's Composer-in-Residence, Celebration is an epic concert opener composed to begin any programme with an exciting fanfare & hymn style structure. The work opens with 'exultant' fanfares throughout the cornet section & flugel, before a heroic theme is heard in the trombones. After the bold fanfare opening, the music settles into a setting of the hymn, Eventide which features a flugel solo. The middle section of the piece gives the band chance to showcase a warm and sostenuto sound before a reprise of the opening fanfare material is combined with Eventide and the heroic theme to bring the piece to an exciting finale.

King Of The Road - Rodger Miller - Lee Rogers
If there was one song that would encapsulate the laid back, easy-going nature of the bass trombone player - this is it! Roger Miller's classic 1964 song has now been skilfully arranged by Lee Rogers which can feature either the bass trombone or Eb Bass.
