John Philip Sousa needs little introduction, however this lesser known March of his may do. Perhaps appealing to the bands of Yorkshire, Slaithwaite MD, Rob Westacott penned this arrangement for Slaithwaite brass band following their qualification to the National Championships in 2015. 'So Amazing', is a beautiful new hymn tune arrangement from the pen of Welsh Composer Jonathan Mead. Whiskey In A Jar - Traditional - Wilfried Weiland
The Irish folksong appears as a arrangement for 7 piece brass ensemble. The parts are 1st and 2nd Cornet, Horn Eb (F), 1st and 2nd Trombone or Baritone, Euphonium, Basses Eb, Bb and Tuba, Percussion and Drumset. Flugel and Bass-Trombone are optional.The arrangement begins with a rock-style introduction as used by Thin Lizzy or Metallica. Verses and chorus offer variety through changing melodic voices and versatile dynamics.

Holiday Spirit - Traditional - Gary A Scott

Suo Gan - Traditional - Max Stannard
Suo Gan is a traditional Welsh lullaby which was written by an anonymous composer. The song features in Steven Spielberg's 1987 film, Empire of the Sun, where a young Christian Bale lip syncs to a performance by James Rainbird. The song has been recorded by great Welsh singers including Charlotte Church and Bryn Terfel. This solo gives a flexible option of any of your Bb instrumentalists in the band taking on the lead part of this beautiful tune.

Andante Cantabile (from the String Quartet No. 1 in D major) - Tchaikovsky - Barry Strickle
The string quartet No.1 in D Maj was the first of three composed by Tchaikovsky. The melancholic Andante cantabile movement of the quartet has become famous, and was founded on a folk-song the composer heard whistled by a house painter. When the quartet was performed at a tribute concert to Leo Tolstoy, the author was said to have been brought to tears by this movement. Now arranged by Barry Strickle for full Brass Band, this is a perfect piece for any occasion or concert.

Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 (allegro) - J.S Bach - John Abbott
The "Brandenburg Concertos" were composed and dedicated to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721, however it seems now they were never actually played for him. This 1st movement has been kilfully arranged as a trio for Soprano Cornet and 2 Bb Cornets (solo cornet, and repiano). This is sure to test the strongest of players, utilising the soprano's high register and making work of the low register on the Bb cornets. As well as keeping the band entertained with running semi-quavers (and some wonderful intervals for the basses!!!) This certainly is a hard piece to perform for the three soloists, but its well worth the challenge.

The "Brandenburg Concertos" were composed and dedicated to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg in 1721, however it seems now they were never actually played for him. Deep Harmony - Handel Parker - Alan Beaumont
Composed in 1854 By Handel Parker, this tune has become a favorite within the Brass Band world. Many have said that no other ensemble can perform a hymn tune quite like a Brass Band.
