One September Morning - Robert Eaves

"Having been working with the Black Dyke Band during the course of 2016, I had been impressed by the sheer artistry and musicianship of two of their star soloists – Zoe Hancock and Katrina Marzella – and decided that I would write a little duet for them, as a surprise! Thus, the title of this short, and hopefully attractive, piece came about from the fact that I literally wrote it one morning in September 2016. Thereupon I took it to my next scheduled session with the band for a read-through with Zoe and Katrina, and soon after we recorded it together. A very happy and memorable outcome for all concerned!" - Robert EavesOne September Morning; featuring Zoe Hancock and Katrina Marzella, conducted by the composer, is featured on the Black Dyke Band CD - Black Dyke Gold Volume VI – DOYCD375

All for One! - Caradog, Hughes & Forslund - Maurice Forslund

'All for One' is a road march based on two well-known Welsh melodies 'Rachie' by Caradog Roberts and 'Calon L?n' by John Hughes. Supporters of Welsh Rugby Union will probably have sung them on more than one occasion. The two melodies have been assembled, added to, and arranged by our colleague Maurice Forslund in Stockholm, and the resulting march is one that is straightforward, in the traditional Brass Band genre, and well within the capabilities of most bands. It works equally well as a concert opener or a processional march for the village fete.

The pieces are...BRIDAL CHORUS (from Lohengrin) By Richard Wagner"Here comes the bride"... is the standard march played for the bride's entrance at many formal weddings. The wedding between Elsa and Lohengrin however was almost an immidiate failure!PACHELBEL'S CANON By Johann PachelbelFormally known as the Canon & Gigue in D and originally composed for a string quartet, the Canon part of the composition has become a favorite at weddings, either as an alternative to the Bridal Chorus (above) or used during the signing of the register. The convention in the Baroque era would have been to play a piece of this type in the moderate to fast tempo, however at weddings it has become fashionable to play the work at a slow tempo.WEDDING MARCH (from "A Midsummer Night's Dream") By Felix MendelsshonPopularized by Princess Victoria's wedding to Prince Frederick William of Prussia and coupled with the Bridal Chorus for the entry of the bride, this Wedding March is often for the recessional at the end. Prelude to "Te Deum" By Charpentier Another item now popular in its use during weddings for its bright fanfares. Many composers have written music to the "Te Deum" text (Te Deum being an early Christian hymn of praise, used still regularly in the R.C Church). The prelude by Charpentier is by far one of the most famous
