An ingenious ?fun? arrangement of this Christmas Song which follows the correct pattern of the ?days? - so a sing-a-long is possible, although it does (as intended really) stand very well with just the band playing. There is something for everyone to do (perhaps too much for some of the shy people in the band!), although it is within the grasp of most bands.

3. A Bournemouth Suite - Benjamin Tubb

Bournemouth is a lovely coastal town in Dorset, South West England. Since my Grandparent?s relocation to this wonderful town, I have spent many weeks of my holidays there - taking in many of the sites. In this Test Piece, I have attempted to describe (in music) a few of the activities available, some of which I have partaken in. The 1st movement - Balloon Ride - describes the journey I took on the ?The Bournemouth Eye?. This tethered balloon takes you up 500ft in the middle of the town centre, enabling you to see surrounding countryside for up to 20 miles! During the summer, there are several large firework displays in the town centre and the 2nd movement - The Pier at Night - describes an evening spent on the beach in deckchairs watching the montage of colours in the night-time sky. The Bournemouth International Centre - The BIC - is one of Bournemouth?s most utilised attractions. Inside is a world of entertainment and the centre itself is just a stone?s throw from both ?The Bournemouth Eye? and The Pier. The 3rd movement has been written to describe the buzz of activity surrounding The BIC.
4. A Short Ride in a Brass Machine - Andrew Baker

Written to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Brighouse & Rastrick Band. The music is a simple celebratory prelude consisting of two main ideas; an expansive melody of open 5ths and a short fanfare figure.

Composed in 2003 for the University of Salford Brass Band, is a dramatic finisher that includes fast, vigorous sections and also slow lyrical playing. Described by Professor David King as ?a cracker!?
